This little beauty has been dubbed a miracle potion in the industry and oh my days, we want to high five it’s founder Dean Christal and the two creators Dr Craig Hawker and Dr Eric Pressly. Not surprised, they are only two of the world’s leading PHD’s in Materials and Chemistry, smart cookies indeed…anyway, lads…we salute you!

Remember when Kim Kardashian went from jet black to platinum blonde in one sitting? Well, what do you think was her stylist’s secret weapon? Of course, you guessed it….Olaplex! Kim herself hailed it as a miracle product and Olaplex doesn’t have any celebrity endorsements or influencers so that bold statement was from the bottom of Kim K’s beautiful wee heart. Since launching, the treatment has inspired an almost cult-like enthusiasm and has very quickly become the must-have product to have up our sleeve. So what is Olaplex?
Olaplex is a 3 step system with all three steps containing the same patented active ingredient. They invented a single ingredient chemistry, free of silicone or oils, that links broken disulfide bonds in the hair during and after chemical services making them stronger than they were before.
No.1 is the concentrate
No.2 is the cream form
No.3 is a take-home version of the No.2, formulated for clients
Both No.1 and No.2 are for salon professionals only and cannot be purchased without a cosmetology license, while the No.3 is available for client’s to purchase at most Olaplex Salons.
Why should you request Olaplex with your colour treatment?
Olaplex is your insurance policy for your hair. By adding Olaplex No.1 into your chemical service, we are mitigating the damage done during the process. This is something that has never been done before! We won’t bore you with all the science so have a look at this to see the difference in the two images, one without adding Olaplex to the colour process and one with….no word’s needed!
Now, the No.2 is a treatment to show your hair some much-needed love, just like the No.1 does, except it doesn’t have chemicals such as lightener working against it. It’s crucial to let the No.2 sit in the hair in between services for a minimum of 10 minutes to get the full benefit of the treatment, – your hair will thank you!
